The kimono dress is a great addition to your summer wardrobe.  It was inspired by a loose fitting Boho style dress with a high waistline and is very comfortable to wear.  This piece is suitable as a beach cover up or just accessorize for a date or a night out with your friends.

This piece looks great and it is very easy to sew. It is suitable for all sizes and figures including pregnant women.

Tips to Sew with Sheer Fabrics

Sewing with slippery sheer fabrics can be tricky.  Cutting the fabric and sewing can be  a challenge.  Here are some tips to make your job easier.

    • To cut, use paper underneath your fabric.  Place your pattern pieces on top and cut your fabric AND the paper.   Cutting on the bias grain also helps.
    • Use Thin Machine Needles-Size 8
    • Sew over your paper and then rip it off.  Sewable Swedish Tracing Paper is a good option for this work.
