I made this Foldover clutch using the Heidi Foldover Clutch FREE pattern from Swoon Patterns.  I modified the pattern to install the zipper in a straight edge and added a tassel. It gives it a different look, but still look modern and fashionable.  It is a piece that you can sew very quickly.  I can add a strap or a chain to use it as a cross body bag.

Pattern:  Heidi Foldover Clutch

Fabric: Waterproof Canvas and Black and Silver Cork

Lining: Premier Prints Slub

Zipper: Black Nylon Metallic Zipper

This clutch is a great bag to sew and it can be sewn by beginners.

I used the nylon metallic zipper in black with silver teeth.  This zipper is nylon but looks like metal! and the best part is very affordable! Sign up below to receive 10% OFF your first order!

For the lining I used Premier Print Slub.  This fabric is great for linings because it is medium-weight and doesn’t need any interfacing. Sewing it was very fast because none of the fabrics needed interfacing.

The straight edge give it a different look.  Check this post to see pictures of other Heidi foldover clutches!

I hope you are inspired to sew a foldover clutch.

Happy Sewing,
